CLICX, the new digital banking enterprise formed through a strategic partnership between Krungthai Bank (KTB), Advanced Info Service (AIS), and PTT Oil and Retail Business (OR), has selected Thought Machine as the technology foundation for its new bank.
CLICX is the first of Thailand’s new virtual banks to achieve operational readiness in line with the Bank of Thailand’s regulatory timetable. Built on Thought Machine’s cloud-native core banking technology, Vault Core, CLICX is designed to launch at pace and continually adapt its products and services as customer needs and market conditions change.
The bank brings together the reach, data and everyday ecosystems of three of Thailand’s largest businesses. Its ambition is to make financial services work for more Thais, including freelancers, daily earners and small entrepreneurs who can be underserved by traditional approaches to credit.
Using Vault Core’s real-time engine, CLICX ingests customer-consented data across mobile, retail, and payment networks to refine credit risk modeling. This real-time behavioural data enables CLICX to expand access to nano-loans and digital personal loans with risk-based pricing, personalised interest rates, and tailored terms.
Vault Core gives CLICX full architectural control over its product engine. By decoupling product logic from underlying core infrastructure, CLICX can build, launch, and reconfigure products, or adjust interest rate models in-house, eliminating core-vendor dependencies and legacy release cycles.
This architecture allows CLICX to natively embed financial services into the mobile, retail, and payment touchpoints of its parent companies, seamlessly integrating banking into customers' everyday routines.
Suporn Sunthornrohit, CEO of CLICX, said:
“Many people in Thailand earn a living through freelance work, daily wages or small businesses, yet their financial lives are not always fully reflected in conventional banking assessments. Our vision is to build a bank that understands how people live and work, and helps them access financial services suited to their needs, from managing everyday money to borrowing responsibly and building savings for the future.”
“CLICX brings together the strengths of Krungthai Bank, AIS and OR to connect banking more closely with everyday life. With Thought Machine providing our core banking foundation, we can continue developing and improving our products as customers’ needs evolve. We want that flexibility to translate into meaningful progress for our customers: greater control over their money and better opportunities to move forward.”
Wannasit Chaiphinan, CTO of CLICX, said:
“We selected Vault Core because we needed a core banking platform that gives our team the flexibility to develop products around our customers’ needs. Its cloud-native architecture separates product logic from the underlying core infrastructure, allowing us to configure, test and refine products in-house with less dependence on vendor-led changes.”
“That gives us practical control over product features such as interest calculations, repayment structures and account rules. It also provides a foundation for connecting banking services with our partners’ digital channels. As CLICX grows, our team can use that flexibility to respond to customer feedback and develop new offerings while maintaining a consistent core banking foundation.”
Paul Taylor, founder and CEO of Thought Machine, said:
“Serving self-employed workers and non-traditional credit profiles requires a clean break from legacy banking engines, which simply cannot handle real-time cross-ecosystem data. Hitting regulatory deadlines is a huge milestone, but the true test of a core engine is speed after launch. With Vault Core, CLICX has the total architectural freedom to adapt pricing, roll out custom products, and scale across Thailand without core technology ever becoming a bottleneck.”
This deployment follows a period of financial performance and regional momentum for Thought Machine. The company recently surpassed $100 million in ARR and total annual revenue, driven by a 57% year-on-year growth rate and positive free cash flow. Thought Machine now counts over 20 global tier 1 banks as clients, solidifying Vault Core as a leading core banking platform worldwide. The win further consolidates Thought Machine’s rapidly growing footprint in Southeast Asia, adding Thailand to a regional client portfolio that already includes deployments and digital bank builds in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
